There’s something about the fall weather that makes me crave cannoli. You see, once a year my mom and I would do some serious cannoli making. It usually happened after school had started and always on a Friday evening so that we could enjoy our cannoli all weekend. (Dessert that good could only last a couple of days!) By the way, did you know that “cannoli” is actually the plural form of “cannolo?” I like to say “cannoli” because who can eat just one cannolo? I want them all! These days, my mom lives too far away for us to whip cannoli on any old’ Friday night, so instead I decided to find a fun variation on the traditional version that we usually make.
Dessert dips are super trendy right now, and with the holiday season and parties right around the corner, it makes sense to have a potluck-style dessert in my recipe box. The Mr. Food Test Kitchen’s Best Cannoli Dip is an easy dessert recipe that whips up in minutes. It tastes just like a traditional cannoli but it’s even easier to make because you don’t have to stuff it into individual shells. That’s why I decided to show you this easy step-by-step tutorial on how to make it:
Step One: Gather all of your ingredients: cream cheese, ricotta, powdered sugar, vanilla, and of course, mini chocolate chips! (That’s right — only 5 ingredients to make this delicious dip.)
Step Two: In a large bowl, combine cream cheese and ricotta cheese.
Step Three: Add in the powdered sugar and vanilla and beat until smooth—mine took about 3 minutes.
Step Four: Fold in 2/3 cup of mini chocolate chips and then you’re ready to serve it!
Once you’ve put it into your serving dish, top with remaining chocolate chips. (One of my favorite ways to eat cannoli is with mini chocolate chips pouring out the sides of them!)

You can serve your cannoli dip with a variety of different treats like waffles cone pieces (that’s what I did), vanilla cookies, or even cannoli shell pieces.
One of the reasons that I’m glad that I found this recipe is so that I can share it with guests next time they come over. It’s so much fun to dip into this fluffy dessert and even better to share! Next time that I see my mom, I will definitely give her the recipe for Best Cannoli Dip. Now I want to know…
